This summer, a series of earthquakes devastated the Indonesian island of Lombok.
A quake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale struck in July, followed by a second with a magnitude of 7 in August and this was followed by some 600 aftershocks.

ShelterBox’s focus is to provide emergency shelter to displaced families.  They are working in partnership with local Rotary clubs assisting with delivery of aid to the affected families.  To date, ShelterBox teams in Indonesia have distributed tents and aid items to 360 families in 80 communities across North, East and West Lombok, and erected 14 tents to replace clinics destroyed by the earthquakes.

This is going up to 600 tents and sets of non-food aid items to the affected population in isolated rural areas of North, East and West Lombok, with priority given to households with pregnant women, lactating mothers, the elderly and the disabled

The JTI Foundation will contribute with 250 000 CHF in total, over a period of six months, through our long-standing partners ShelterBox UK and GEA SAR (UK). GEA will be complementing the efforts of ShelterBox through training and capacity building.
