To help the victims of this devastating natural disaster, new implementing partner Solidar Suisse has joined the JTI Foundation to develop both water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and food-security programs.
Assessments are now underway in flood-affected areas of Mozambique, and the decontamination and rehabilitation of water-related infrastructure has started. The program plan includes:
The food security elements of the program include the distribution of seeds and agricultural tools to approximately 3,500 families.
In total, Solidar Suisse estimates that up to 140,000 people will benefit from the WASH components of the program, and 17,500 from food-security activities in Mozambique.
