ADPC has had a long and productive partnership with The JTI Foundation, dating from 2012. With the support of The JTI Foundation, ADPC has worked in a number of Asian countries, and in 2015 organized the DRR Partners Workshop in Bangkok, facilitating collaboration among existing partners.
The project is aimed at strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in risk-prone Korean communities. The deliverables include 15 community level training workshops and two Training of Trainers on disaster preparedness & risk reduction, basic search & rescue; installing fire protection systems in five community marketplaces; the development of a Republic of Korean Community Resilience Framework amongst others.
To ensure a high degree of local participation and the project’s longer-term sustainability, communities have been identified and selected in consultation with local disaster management offices, government authorities and local partner, Good Neighbors. Subsequently, the proposed initiative will be implemented in partnership with Good Neighbors.
